About me

This is my personal blog where I share my thoughts and reflections on literature, language, culture, society, religion and politics of the Middle East, South and Central Asia, and the US. Here, I post short, sporadic, and non-academic pieces.

I’m currently an anthropology PhD student at UC Irvine. My interests are rooted at the intersection of international politics, immigrants, identity, transnational identity, secularism, religious disaffiliation, and retention.
