About me

This is my personal blog where I share my thoughts and reflections on literature, language, culture, society, religion, and politics of the Middle East, Afghanistan, and the US. Here, I post short, sporadic, and non-academic pieces but they are all reflections based on my ethnographic work and my anthropological quest for understanding the world that I live in.

I’m currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Anthropology at UC Irvine, with interests in refugees, diaspora, identity, nationalism, militarism, and imperialism in the context of the geopolitics of Afghanistan, South Asia, and the Middle East.
